As the Institute identified the importance of Logistics Management, the Practitioners and researchers alike has grown considerably, particularly, in the last decade of twentieth century. India, being the second largest growing economy, Indian Institute of Logistics has taken the responsibility to create awareness among the society and thus equip the students with adequate skills and knowledge in General Management functional areas and in the Shipping and Logistics business sectors. The Institute aims to train quality Logisticians to the Industry and thus we are not only creating more job opportunities and also knowledge bank by creating 100% practical, job / skill - oriented training.
  • According to the survey, about 90% of the Export and Import trade is done through Ocean Route.
  • About 50% of the 90% is traded through the Containers.
  • The total cost of the Logistics is about 13% Of the GDP.
  • In the year 2006, the transportation of the goods by containers was about 4.5 millions.
  • The Logistics industry takes the biggest market share globally.
